Major League Soccer (MLS) is a men's professional soccer league, sanctioned by U.S. Soccer, that represents the sport's highest level in both the United States and Canada. MLS constitutes one of the major professional sports leagues of the United States and Canada. The league is composed of 20 teams—17 in the U.S. and 3 in Canada. The MLS regular season runs from March to October, with each team playing 34 games; the team with the best record is awarded the Supporters' Shield. The postseason includes twelve teams competing in the MLS Cup Playoffs through November and December, culminating in the championship game, the MLS Cup.[8] MLS teams also play in other domestic competitions against teams from other divisions in the U.S. Open Cup and in the Canadian Championship. MLS teams also compete against continental rivals in the CONCACAF Champions League.

A.F.C. Bournemouth Logo
AFC Bournemouth is a professional association football club based in Bournemouth, Dorset, that plays in the Premier League, the top tier of the English football league system. Formed in 1890 as Boscombe St. John's Institute F.C., the club was reformed in 1899 as Boscombe F.C.. They changed to Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic F.C. in 1923, before settling on their current name in 1972. Nicknamed The Cherries, since 1910 Bournemouth have played their home games at Dean Court. Their home colours are red and black striped shirts, with black shorts and socks.
AFC Bournemouth have won the second and third tiers of English football, and were twice runners up of the fourth tier. They have also won the Football League Trophy, and the Football League Third Division South Cup.
Currently managed by Eddie Howe, the 2015–16 season was AFC Bournemouth's first ever in England's top division.

Arsenal Football Club is an English professional football club based in Holloway, London, that plays in the Premier League, the top flight of English football. The club has won 12 FA Cups, a joint-record, 13 League titles, two League Cups, 14 FA Community Shields, one UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and one Inter-Cities Fairs Cup.
Arsenal was the first club from the South of England to join The Football League, in 1893. They entered the First Division in 1904, and have since accumulated the second most points. Relegated only once, in 1913, they continue the longest streak in the top division. In the 1930s, Arsenal won five League Championships and two FA Cups, and another FA Cup and two Championships after the war. In 1970–71, they won their first League and FA Cup Double. Between 1989 and 2005, they won five League titles and five FA Cups, including two more Doubles. They completed the 20th century with the highest average league position.

Atlanta United FC is a Major League Soccer (MLS) expansion franchise based in Atlanta, Georgia. The club plans to begin play in 2017, and will be a member of the Eastern Conference. The club, which was announced by the league on April 16, 2014, will be owned and operated by Home Depot co-founder and Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank. The team will play at Bobby Dodd Stadium, and later move to Mercedes-Benz Stadium which is currently under construction, and expected to be completed in late-2017.

Burnley Football Club (/ˈbɜːrnli/) is a professional association football club based in Burnley, Lancashire. The team are playing in the Premier League, the highest level of English football in the 2016–17 season after winning the England's second tier league in the 2015–16 season in the Football League Championship. Nicknamed The Clarets, due to the dominant colour of their home shirts, they were one of the founder members of the Football League in 1888.
Burnley have been Football League Champions twice, in 1920–21and 1959–60, have won the FA Cup once, in 1914, and have won the Community Shield twice, in 1960 and 1973. The Clarets also reached the 1961 quarter-finals of the European Cup. They are one of only three teams to have won all top four professional divisions of English football, along with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Preston North End.
The club colours of claret and blue were adopted in 1910 in tribute to the dominant club of English football at the time, Aston Villa. Their

Chelsea Football Club (/ˈtʃɛlsiː/) is an English professional football club based in Fulham, London, that competes in the Premier League. Founded in 1905, the club's home ground since then has been Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea had their first major success in 1955, when they won the league championship. They then won various cup competitions between 1965 and 1996. The club's greatest period of success has come during the last two decades; winning 21 trophies since 1997. Chelsea have won five national league titles, seven FA Cups, five League Cups and four FA Community Shields, one UEFA Champions League, two UEFA Cup Winners' Cups, one UEFA Europa League and one UEFA Super Cup. Chelsea are the only London club to win the UEFA Champions League,and one of four clubs, and the only British club, to have won all three main UEFA club competitions.

Chicago Fire Soccer Club is an American professional soccer club based in the Chicago suburb of Bridgeview, Illinois, United States. The team competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Eastern Conference of the league. The franchise is named after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, and was founded on October 8, 1997, the event's 126th anniversary. The team began play in 1998 as one of the league's first expansion teams. The Fire won the MLS Cup as well as the U.S. Open Cup (the "double") on their first season. They have also won U.S. Open Cups in 2000, 2003, and 2006; in addition to the 2003 MLS Supporters' Shield.
The Fire maintains an extensive development system, consisting of the Chicago Fire U-23 (Premier Development League and Super-20 League teams), the Chicago Fire Development Academy, and the Chicago Fire Juniors youth organization. They also operate the Chicago Fire Foundation, the team's community-based charitable division. Toyota Park is the Fire's home stadium.
Colorado Rapids Logo
The Colorado Rapids are an American professional men's soccer team, based in the Denver suburb of Commerce City, Colorado. The Rapids compete in Major League Soccer, as a member of the Western Conference in the league. The franchise began play in 1996 as one of the charter clubs in MLS.
Colorado have won the MLS Cup in 2010, in their second MLS Cup appearance. The first appearance was in 1997, losing to D.C. United. They were also runners up of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in the 1999 tournament, where they lost to the Rochester Raging Rhinos, being the last time a non-MLS team has won the tournament. The Rapids play their home games at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City since its opening in the 2007 season.
Columbus Crew SC Logo
Columbus Crew SC is a professional soccer club based in Columbus, Ohio, United States, which competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Eastern Conference of the league. Crew SC began play in 1996 as one of the ten charter clubs of the league. The team is owned by Anthony Precourt and Precourt Sports Ventures LLC. Precourt became the second owner in the history of the club on July 30, 2013. The club's head coach is Gregg Berhalter, a former player of the United States men's national soccer team.
The franchise was founded in 1994 and originally known as the Columbus Crew, without any markers of its membership as a soccer club, until late 2014, when the club revealed a new logo and the addition of 'SC' to its moniker. The "SC" in the team moniker stands for Soccer Club, but the team name is officially "Columbus Crew SC".

Crystal Palace Football Club is an English professional football club based in South Norwood, London, that plays in the Premier League, the highest tier in English football.
The club was founded in 1905 at the famous Crystal Palace Exhibition building by the owners of the FA Cup Final stadium, who wanted their own team to play at the historic venue. Palace played their home games at the Cup Final venue until 1915, but then the First World War forced them to move out and play at Herne Hill Velodrome and the Nest. In 1924, they moved to their current home at Selhurst Park. The club initially played in the Southern League before joining the Football League in 1920 and they became inaugural champions of the newly formed Third Division in 1920–21.
D.C. United Logo
D.C. United is an American professional soccer club based in Washington, D.C. The club competes as a member of the Eastern Conference in Major League Soccer, the top level of professional American soccer. The franchise began play in 1996 as one of the ten charter clubs of the league. The club was one of the most successful clubs in the early years of MLS, winning eight of its thirteen titles between 1996 and 1998 under then head coach Bruce Arena. United holds the joint MLS record for most Supporters' Shields, has four MLS Cups, and been crowned U.S. Open Cup champions three times. It is also the first club to win both the MLS Supporters' Shield and MLS Cup consecutively.

Everton F.C. /ˈɛvərtən/ are a football club in Liverpool, England, which plays in the Premier League. The club have competed in the top division for a record 114 seasons and won the League Championship nine times and the FA Cup five times.
Formed in 1878, Everton were founding members of The Football League in 1888 and won their first League Championship two seasons later. Following four League Championship and two FA Cup wins, Everton experienced a lull in the immediate post World War Two period, until a revival in the 1960s, which saw the club win two League Championships and an FA Cup. The mid-1980s represented their most recent period of sustained success, with two League Championships, an FA Cup, and the 1985 European Cup Winners' Cup. The club's most recent major trophy was the 1995 FA Cup.

FC Dallas is an American professional soccer club based in the Dallas suburb of Frisco, Texas. The club competes as a member of Major League Soccer (MLS), the top league in the United States and Canada. The franchise began play in 1996, as one of the ten charter clubs of MLS. Prior to 2005, the club was known as the Dallas Burn.
In the regular season, FC Dallas' best finish was in 2016, when they won their first Supporters' Shield. In 2010, they were runners-up to the Colorado Rapids in the MLS Cup. The team has won the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup twice (in the 1997 and 2016 editions).

Houston Dynamo is an American professional soccer club based in Houston, Texas, United States. The franchise competes in Major League Soccer (MLS), as a member of the Western Conference. The Dynamo first played their home games at Robertson Stadium on the University of Houston campus until moving to their home stadium, BBVA Compass Stadium, during the 2012 season.
The Dynamo was established on December 15, 2005 when the then owner of the San Jose Earthquakes, Anschutz Entertainment Group, announced that the team was relocating to Houston, Texas after failed attempts in securing a soccer specific stadium in San Jose. The club would then be an expansion team of the league, which began play in 2006. Houston Dynamo won the 2006 and 2007 MLS Cups being in their first two seasons. In 2008, Houston became the first Major League Soccer club to secure a point on Mexican soil in the CONCACAF Champions League era.[1]

The club participates in the Premier League, the top tier of English football – and their greatest achievement in cup competitions came in 2014, when the team reached the final of the FA Cup. In 2007–08 they achieved promotion to the top flight of English football for the first time in their history by winning the Championship play-off final at Wembley Stadium. The ownership group is headed by venture capitalist Henry Nguyen, entrepreneur Peter Guber and former National Basketball Association executive Tom Penn. The ownership group also includes businessmen Ruben Gnanalingam and Vincent Tan. In addition, the club has a further 21 named investors including Magic Johnson, Nomar and Mia Hamm-Garciaparra, Chad Hurley, Tony Robbins and Will Ferrell.

Minnesota United FC's ownership is led by Bill McGuire, former CEO of UnitedHealth Group, and includes other Minnesota sports owners: the Pohlad family, owners of the Twins; Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor; former Wild investor Glen Nelson, and his daughter Wendy Carlson Nelson of the Carlson hospitality company.

The Montreal Impact (French: Impact de Montréal) is a Canadian professional soccer team based in Montreal, Quebec that competes as a member of the Eastern Conference in Major League Soccer (MLS). The team began play in 2012 as an expansion team of the league, being the league's third Canadian club, and replaced the North American Soccer League team of the same name.
In 2015, the Impact became the second MLS club, and first Canadian club, to advance to the final of the CONCACAF Champions League, in its current format since 2008, where they had finished runners up in the two game aggregate goal series against Club America. The Impact had won the Canadian Championship in both 2013 and 2014. The club plays its home games at the Saputo Stadium and is coached by Mauro Biello.

The New England Revolution is an American professional soccer club based in the Greater Boston area that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS), in the Eastern Conference of the league. It is one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, having competed in the league since its inaugural season.
The club is owned by Robert Kraft, who also owns the New England Patriots along with his son, Jonathan Kraft, who is a major investor of the club. The name "Revolution" refers to the New England region's significant involvement in the American Revolution that took place from 1775-1783.
New England currently play their home matches at Gillette Stadium. The club played their home games at the adjacent and now-demolished Foxboro Stadium, from 1996 until 2001. The Revs hold the distinction of being the only original MLS team to have every league game in its history televised.
The Revolution won their first major trophy in the 2007 US Open Cup. The following year, they won the 2008 North American SuperLiga.

The Red Bulls won the Supporters' Shield in 2013 and 2015. The team's prior best result in an MLS season was reaching the MLS Cup final in 2008. The Union finished as runners-up in the 2014 and 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup tournaments. In the 2014 edition, they lost to the Seattle Sounders FC 3–1 in extra time and to Sporting Kansas City 6–7 on penalties in after a 1–1 draw in the 2015 edition.

The Portland Timbers are an American professional soccer club based in Portland, Oregon, that competes as a member of the Western Conference in Major League Soccer. The team began play in 2011 as an expansion team. The club is the fourth soccer franchise based in Portland to share the legacy of the Timbers name, which originated with the original team, in the North American Soccer League in 1975.
In the 2013 MLS season, the Timbers finished first in the Western Conference, clinching both their first-ever playoff appearance and CONCACAF Champions League berth. In the 2015 playoffs, Portland won the Western Conference final and advanced to MLS Cup 2015, where they defeated Columbus Crew SC 2–1, winning their first MLS Cup trophy.

Real Salt Lake (RSL) is an American professional soccer club that competes as a member club of Major League Soccer (MLS)' Western Conference. RSL began play in 2005 as an expansion team of the league. The club plays its home games at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah, a suburb of Salt Lake City.
Real Salt Lake won the 2009 MLS Cup. The team also finished runners-up of the 2013 MLS Cup, the 2010 MLS Supporters Shield, the 2010–11 CONCACAF Champions League, and the 2013 U.S. Open Cup. The team has been led since the start of the 2014 season by head coach Jeff Cassar, who was previously an assistant coach with the club.

The San Jose Earthquakes are an American professional soccer team based in San Jose, California, United States, that competes as a member of the Western Conference of Major League Soccer (MLS). The franchise began play in 1996, (originally as the San Jose Clash), as one of the charter clubs of the league. The Earthquakes took part in the first game in MLS history, defeating D.C. United 1–0. The Earthquakes have won two MLS Cup titles, in 2001 and 2003, and two Supporters' Shields in 2005 and 2012. In 2002, the team played in its first CONCACAF Champions Cup (now called the CONCACAF Champions League), making it to the quarterfinals. The team holds a fierce rivalry with the LA Galaxy known as the California Clásico.
Seattle Sounders FC Logo
Seattle Sounders FC is an American professional soccer club based in Seattle, Washington. The Sounders compete as a member of the Western Conference of Major League Soccer (MLS). The club was established on November 13, 2007, and began play in 2009 as an MLS expansion team. The Sounders are the third Seattle soccer club to share the Sounders name being part of a legacy which traces back to the original team of the NASL in 1974.
The club's majority owner is Adrian Hanauer,and its minority owners are Joe Roth, Paul Allen and Drew Carey. Former USL Sounders coach and assistant coach Brian Schmetzer took over as interim head coach in July 2016 after the departure of Sigi Schmid; Schmetzer was made permanent head coach in November. The Sounders play their home matches at CenturyLink Field. Along with several organized groups, a 53-member marching band called 'Sound Wave' supports the club at each home match. Seattle competes with rival MLS clubs Portland and Vancouver for the Cascadia Cup.

Sporting Kansas City is an American professional soccer club based in Kansas City, Missouri, playing its home games in Kansas City, Kansas.The club competes as a member of the Western Conference in MLS. Sporting KC began play in 1996 as a charter team in the league, then known as the Kansas City Wiz. The team was founded by Lamar Hunt in 1995. Since moving across the state line, they have been the only major professional sports league franchise to play their home games in Kansas.
For the majority of their existence, the franchise were known as the Kansas City Wizards. The team rebranded in November 2010, coinciding with its move to their home stadium, now known as Children's Mercy Park.The franchise has won the MLS Cup twice (2000, 2013), the Supporters' Shield in 2000, and the U.S. Open Cup in 2004, 2012 and 2015.

Toronto Football Club, commonly referred to as Toronto FC or simply TFC, is a Canadian professional soccer club based in Toronto, Ontario. The club competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Eastern Conference. The club plays its home matches at BMO Field, located at Exhibition Place on Toronto's shoreline.
Toronto FC began play in 2007 as an expansion team, and was the first Canadian based franchise in the league. The team is coached by Greg Vanney and operated by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, which also operates the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs, the AHL's Toronto Marlies, the NBA's Toronto Raptors (and the NBA Development League's Raptors 905 by extension) and the USL's Toronto FC II.
Toronto FC are five-time Canadian Champions, and its most significant achievement to date is reaching the semifinals of the 2011–12 CONCACAF Champions League.
Vancouver Whitecaps FC Logo
Vancouver Whitecaps FC is a Canadian professional soccer team based in Vancouver, British Columbia that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) in the Western Conference of the league. The Whitecaps are the 17th team of Major League Soccer and replaced the USSF Division 2 team of the same name. The club has been owned and managed by the same group since their USSF days, having graduated to MLS after the conclusion of the USSF's 2010 season. The MLS version of the team is the third to share the legacy of the Whitecaps name. In the 2012 season, the team became the first Canadian team to qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs.
