42:05

42:6 · Here we have another age-old ideogram. In ancient Greece this sign represented the goddess Aphrodite, the principle of beauty and sexual love. As a sign for Aphrodite (and maybe her predecessors Astarte and Ischtar) it was also drawn 42:16 and 18:1. Later the same goddess or planet was drawn 41a:7.
At the end of the Middle Ages this sign was sometimes used as a time sign by the alchemists to signify night. The sign could also stand for copper although for this meaning it was usually drawn 41a:7. The sign 42:6 is commonly used in modern technical, electrical, and military systems. Sometimes 42:6 is used for mine on maps.
