39:30 · A sign for salt alkali used in early chemistry or late alchemy. Salt was also drawn 28:5 and 30:13.
    One salt alkali was the common table salt, or sodium chloride. Like "elixir", "alchemy", and "algebra", the word alkali is of Arabian origin. The alcali metals were sodium and potassium.
