38:02a

38:2 · This is the most common sign for the bull, Taurus. Taurus is the part of the ecliptic (see 38:14 in this group) that begins where the sun is seen around April 20, and ends where it is around May 20. Like all the zodiac signs Taurus also represents the time period when the sun can be seen against the part of the ecliptic just described.
Taurus belongs, together with , 18:33, and 14:21, to the fixed quadruplicity, symbolized by the sign 30:40. See this sign in Group 30 for more information about the quadruplicities.
Together with 49:13 and Taurus belongs to the earth element, drawn 29:1. This means, according to astrologers, that individuals strongly influenced by 38:2 for instance by having 26:8, 20:1, and other planets in this sign are characterized by deliberateness, slowness, relentlessness, perseverance, sensuality, and a general tendency toward things and relationships that are palpably material rather than abstract like ideas and thoughts. For more details on the triplicities, i.e. elements, turn to 28:1 in Group 28.
The planet Venus, 41a:7 (see 29:13 in Group 29), is the planetary ruler of 38:2. The moon,20:1, and Jupiter, 17:1, are considered well placed in 38:2, whereas 42:28 and 41a:36 do not function well in the sign of Taurus.
According to esoteric astrology 38:2 is thought to have been the zodiac sign that coloured the cultural development on the earth from about 4500 B.C. until 2350 B.C. It was during that period that the humankind began to root itself in fixed dwelling places and to develop farming techniques. Before this era humankind had mainly made its living by fishing and hunting.
In alchemy 38:2 was sometimes used to signify the metal bismuth. Filled, i.e. as , it has been used as a sign for mosque on some maps.
