A sign for the star of the Venus goddess, or Ischtar's star, during the Babylonian reign in the Euphrates-Tigris region. Refer to in Group 29 for the relation between the planet and goddess of Venus, and the eightpointed star.
When Iraq (the modern name for the Euphrates-Tigris region) achieved its independence in 1921, this particular Venus star was used on their flag. After the revolution of 1958 a new flag was created with three Venus stars of the type on it.
