25:16 · During a few centuries around 1000 B.C. this symbol was used in the Euphrates-Tigris region to represent the sun and the sun god Shamash, the greatest power, or the highest divinity. 25:16 is often depicted as rising out of , one of the signs for the ram, the sign of Aries, representing the spring equinox. See the wavy lines as signs for the sun's radiation. The symbol is often found in close physical proximity to the ideograms 20:7, for the moon god Sin, and 26:31 for Ischtar, as well as with , the staff of the Babylonian sun god Shamash, on reliefs.
