All these four graphs are ideograms for Zeus, the dominating god in Greek mythology. Zeus was the youngest son of Chronos (see ) and Gaia, and the brother of Poseidon (see ) and Hades. He was equipped with a thunderbolt or a bundle of thunderbolts as his staff of power. Zeus was the Almighty Father and ruler of the forces of weather. His counterpart in Roman mythology was Jupiter. Zeus was also graphically symbolized by the signs , , , and . But these signs could also be used for the same meanings as those of the following three entry signs.
