Passenger/Pedestrian Symbols
This page lists of the various symbols in the Passenger/Pedestrian Symbols group.
The AIGA and D.O.T. compiled an inventory of symbol systems that had been used in various locations worldwide, from airports and train stations to the Olympic Games. AIGA appointed a committee of five leading designers of environmental graphics, who evaluated the symbols and made recommendations for adapting or redesigning them. Based on their conclusions, a team of AIGA member designers produced the symbols

Baggage Claim

Car Rental
A car rental or car hire agency is a company that rents automobiles for short periods of time (generally ranging from a few hours to a few weeks) for a fee. It is often organized with numerous local branches (which allow a user to return a vehicle to a different location), and primarily located near airports or busy city areas and often complemented by a website allowing online reservations.
Coat Check
Attended cloakrooms, or coat checks, are staffed rooms where coats and bags can be stored securely. Typically, a ticket is given to the customer, with a corresponding ticket attached to the garment or item.
Coffee shop
Coffeehouse, coffee shop, and café are related terms for an establishment which primarily serves prepared coffee or other hot beverages.
Customs
Customs is an authority or agency in a country responsible for collecting and safeguarding customs duties and for controlling the flow of goods including animals, transports, personal effects and hazardous items in and out of a country.
Drink Fountain
A device equipped with a nozzle that when activated provides a stream of drinking water for public use.
Elevator
An elevator (or lift in the Commonwealth excluding Canada) is a type of vertical transport equipment that efficiently moves people or goods between floors (levels, decks) of a building, vessel or other structures.
Escalator
An escalator is a moving staircase – a conveyor transport device for carrying people between floors of a building.
Escalator - Down

Fire Extinguisher
A fire extinguisher, flame extinguisher, or simply an extinguisher, is an active fire protection device used to extinguish or control small fires, often in emergency situations.

Immigration
An airport of entry (AOE) is an airport that provides customs and immigration services for incoming flights. These services allow the airport to serve as an initial port of entry for foreign visitors arriving in a country.
Information
A waiting room is a building, or more commonly a part of a building, where people sit or stand until the event they are waiting for occurs.
Lost and Found
A lost and found (American English and Canadian English), lost property (British English), or lost articles (also Canadian English) is an office in a large public building or area where visitors can go to retrieve lost articles that may have been found by other visitors.

Rail transport is a means of conveyance of passengers and goods, by way of wheeled vehicles running on rail tracks. It is also commonly referred to as train transport.
