This structure is used
in the context of modern architecture and communications. As a sign in
computer flow charting
means sorting.
With the square
placed diagonally it becomes an Indian yantra structure. Yantras are
visual structures linked to subconscious psychological complexes.
Meditating over a yantra is considered to help when one is trying to
reach higher levels of consciousness, for instance
in
in Group 14.
Thus, it is probably
psychological considerations and not esthetics or chance that made
Germany's (and Europe's) at the time biggest bank, Deutsche
Bank, adopt the
yantra structure
as its logo.
This graphic structure, but
placed so that the diagonal line in the square is horizontal, is said
to have occurred on banners of the Mongols in the thirteenth
century. See
in Group 42.
