Symbol 20:23

2020a

20:23 · This sign is named xomsa or khamsa (the number 5, in Arabic). It is the hand of Fatima, the Prophet's favourite daughter. Khamsa is a symbol of good fortune. It stands for the support group, the blood revenge group, or the closest male relatives, not further than five degrees of relationship from oneself.
Note that 2472, a variation of khamsa, appears between the arms of the cross on the medal for the Johannites-Maltese Order. Is this an ideographic remain from the crusaders' wars against, and final defeat by the Muslims?
